Dietrich as a childAbout the Groom

So, you want to know more about the groom. Well, what do you want to know? I am in my younger 30′s, and reside in central Arkansas. I have two children and will be finally tying the knot to my girlfriend of 13 (or so) years sometime in the not to distant future. My interests include such mundane things as surfing the web and reading and more common things like camping and watching tv and movies to my more unique interests such as astronomy, web design, and mobile technology.

Professional Life

I currently work for a local design and marketing firm and for the first time in my professional career have found a job that I am proud of. More of that part of my life can be found on the what I do page at dietrichduke.com. In a previous life, I worked as a server, independent contractor, and ran my own web design firm for several years.

Personal Life

Dietrich on a train in polandAs I mentioned above, I’m in my younger 30′s, almost married, living in Central Arkansas, and have two wonderful (well, one is currently possessed by a banshee) children. Although my work takes up quite a bit of time now, I still find time to volunteer as a Den Leader for a local cub scout pack, get my fix of TV and games, and cook great meals. Working in a restaurant for 10 years, one naturally picks up cooking skills, and what better laboratory for recipe ideas than in ones own kitchen!

Dietrich and Dad @ Seth's WeddingI have been fortunate to have traveled extensivly in my life, and continue to do so. Having visited three out of the seven continents on planet earth, I have seen and experienced more than most, but I am always willing to share my stories and insight about where I’ve been. When I travel, I like to post on my blog or social media sites reviews and tidbits from my locations. Sometimes, these can be crude, especially if I’ve had a hell of a time in a current situation, but most of the time I’m upbeat and if treated nicely in my travels, I leave a nice review….and tip!

Getting to know me

I invite all of you to follow me on twitter @dietrichmd and join the conversation in my blog and if you really want to get personal, shoot me an email.  You can also take a look at this video I compiled that spans over the last 30 or so odd years. It’s about 17m long, but it’s a good view if you really want to know me.

Cheers!
