Meet Our Wedding Party

How many weddings have you been to and sat there, watching the wedding procession go by and wondered who are the people in the wedding party?  Why were they chosen?  We feel your frustration and have decided to let you meet our wedding party here on the website, before you meet them in person at the event.

 Matron of Honor

Jessica Taunton

Liz and Jessica met in February of 2009.  After registering their sons (Noah and Hunter) for Cub Scouts, they both were volun-told to be den leaders for Den 7.  From then on their friendship has blossomed as they have a lot in common.  They take a mutual interest in the arts and crafts, sewing, scrapbooking, photography, and etc. and spend as much time together as possible working on these things together.  The boys are also good friends and enjoy time playing together.

Best Man

Seth Duke

Dietrich’s Brother and best friend since 1983, Seth recently was married himself.  As I was his best man, and given our history, he is a natural fit for mine.

Bridesmaid

Lynne Baty

Liz has known Lynne from a very young age and was actually the best friend of her older sister growing up in the elementary school years.  After many years of not seeing each other Lynne and Liz got back in touch through social networking and have maintained their friendship ever since.  Hunter also loves playing with Lynne’s two boys, Alec and Daniel.

Groomsman

Courtney Sheets

Fellow world traveler, friend since 2005, and current grad student, Courtney has nudged me into marriage for the last few years.  As such, he gets to stand up there and strut his stuff for a few hours as a groomsman.

BRIDESMAID

Emily Duke

Emily is Dietrich’s sister and close to both Liz and Dietrich.  We wanted our wedding to be a family celebration and so Liz asked Emily if she would do her the honors of standing up with her.

Chad Lilly

Also following me to the ends of the world, Chad has been a friend since 2005 like Courtney.  While Chad is currently seeking his own future bride, he will earn valuable wedding experience as a Groomsman.

Sarah Sheets

Sarah is the wife of Dietrich’s groomsman, Courtney Sheets.  She has been a good friend to both Liz and Dietrich and because of this Liz wanted both Courtney and Sarah to participate in the wedding party.

Ray Valencia

I met Ray while working at Saddle Creek in 2007.  At first, we were completely separate , but over time, and with the help of mutual interests, our friendship blossomed.  Today, even though he lives in Tampa, Ray is one of my closest friends and confidants.
